On Ivory Coast's first round loss to Argentina:

""Some people had a feeling we would fail badly against the mighty Argentina but the team made us proud and showed we can compete with the best," said Likane Tchiekpe. "Actually, my husband was expecting us to win but I was confident of a draw because it was only our first game at the World Cup. I still think we can qualify for the next round."

And they are nicknamed “The Mighty Elephants”, could give you nightmares that, very cool name for a footy team, could be a great advert in there somewhere, lots of morphing CGI and all that.

How is it all the Africa teams get cool nicknames, like “The Super Eagles”, “The Black Stars” etc etc and the best we can get is elongation of the vowels, “Engeeeeeeerlaaaaaand”.

Fair enough, elongation of vowels and consonants. Though even with the inventive use of extra long phonemes, it still does not hold a candle to the Palancas Negras (“Black Impalas”)
