I’m Kai, an English guy living in Southern California New York who’s learning given up learning how to play golf. Turns out it’s really very hard, so I’ve chosen to share the misery around a bit. but luckily it’s winter now, and unlike socal there’s no golf in NY at the moment so I have an excuse.
I’m somewhat obsessed with technology, video games, movies and sleeping. I do stuff on the internet for work (Web strategy, social media, online marketing, analytics – that kind of thing).

Hullo Kai,
Joel from AOL Ents here. I saw your moniker on Roach’s weblog. She told me a little of your exploits when she was in Thailand at the start of the year… Anyway, how are ye doing?
I’m grand – have been in Bangers aropund 5 years now. Having been fired from my own lifestyle magazine, I’m now writing ad copy for BMW, of all things.
Anyway, I’m back to Blighty for the first time in over 2 years soon, and am trying to hook up with a few old Saros characters. Principally Hunt – do you have a functional email/phone number for the bastard?
Best,
Joel
Hello mate – blimey, there’s a surprise
Nice to hear from you.
Hunt posts on here as it goes. Drop me an email and I’ll pass on his addy.
All good here, ta. Sounds like you’ve been having fun. Where are you working for BMW then?
I’m in Bangkok – been here for almost five years, kind of by accident. The ad agency I work for does BMW account for much of Asia. And how about yourself (other than learing to play golf!)?
I don’t have your email address. Any chance you can bung me Hunt’s to – then delete my address from your site?
Ta muchly
Joel
Ha, two birds with one stone here I come. Joel buddy, got your mail, supreme to hear you’re well and still steering the career along on the one cylinder, been a trick of mine since 2000. And Kai, what’s all this buy my book nonsence? The A-Z is the only book I need, which I guess is why I’ve never roamed further than 80 Hammersmith Rd.
Missing you both
Good cheer, C
Kai – when are you going to blog about Golf already? I need to figure out where to try to play while in Kinsale – can you point me in the right direction?
Kai: Time to add a blog about baseball. Ever since we went to the Yankees game, they are now in first. You must have brought some good karma to them
Cris – Frank’s book, not mine
Marc – I’ll put a call in to the rellies. Will drop you a line to get dates off you.
Marty – I’m all about good karma. Sadly I left it all over on the east coast though, ‘cos the Pads are starting their yearly fade pretty early this year.
Hey Kai, you dirty monkey – how’s tricks?
I didn’t think golf would be your game????
baseball is rubbish by the way – saw the yankees last year – nearly fell asleep…..
Crikey, hello mate! Long time no speak, how’s it going? And how did you find this place?
Golf wasn’t really my game, but am very taken with it indeed. Bloody hard work though.
What’s new with you then mate?
Long time indeed!
on that linked-in thingy i keep get emailed…..
I used to play golf – incredibly frustrating, especially after a night out with Eric.
What’s new – how about am engaged and have a 4 week oold daughter called Erin – will that do you?
Fookin’ ell mate, congrats! Any pics anywhere?
All the rage this baby business, eh?

Hi Kai,
I’m the Armchair Golfer and ran across your blog the other night. Saw the name of your blog and the Federer post and thought I’d have some fun with it. (All in good-natured fun, of course.) I used to live in San Diego, a beautiful spot. I like your blog. I may report about it from time.
Kind regards,
The Armchair Golfer
